Jimmie Rodgers emigrated to Washington, D.C., 1938, and began singing as the "Singing Brakeman" on a radio broadcast. Rodgers recorded four hits from this album, "In The Jailhouse Now", "Waiting for a Train," as well as "Someone to Love Me". His recordings featured an unusual accompaniment: tuba and guitar.

Blue yodel songs

Jimmie Rodgers, a country music legend and multitalented musician, composed thirteen blue yodel tracks. He was a prolific writer, whose songs often had dark undertones. Blue yodel is a derivative of traditional blues. It is based upon 12-bar blues songs. Among his many hits is "T for Texas", which sold half a million copies.

After Jimmie Rodgers' death, many other talented artists started to gain popularity as blue yodel singers. Jimmie Davis, who wrote "You Are My Sunshine," is a well-known and respected blue yodeler. He later became governor of Louisiana and won the Grammy for his country music recordings. Gene Autry, a singing cowboy, later became famous.

Tuberculosis

In 1930, "T.B. Blues singer Jimmie Rodgers suffered from the condition. He was diagnosed at the height of his fame, but left the stage to a host of imitators. By 1932, he was a household name. His penultimate recordings were made in Camden, NJ. After the success with "T for Texas," he started a weekly radio show from San Antonio. The constant touring proved to be a hindrance in his recovery.

Jimmie Rodgers was diagnosed with tuberculosis in 1924. The condition was so severe that doctors recommended complete bed rest. But, his doctor convinced Jimmie to visit a Meridian charity hospital. After a few months, Jimmie returned to the stage and began performing in street corners. He was able to leave the hospital and return to his favorite haunts despite his illness. He was later a successful entertainer who was then recruited by Victor Talking Machine Company.

Tuba

Although a Mississippi native, Jimmie Rodgers was a versatile performer who enjoyed playing various types of music, including jazz, blues, and country. He did not portray the life of a farmer or sing about the mountains. Instead he was a man of the planet. Although most of his recorded music was marketed as country, he also performed jazz standards and occasionally added a surprise jazz tuba element.

His unique style made Jimmie the center of attention and was evident in his recordings. Meridian Rising, which is his album, contains stories about Jimmie as well as music of his era. His recordings include Desert Blues and Brakeman's Blues. 2. Jen Gunderman and Dennis Crouch also performed on the album.

Mississippi life

Jimmie Rodgers' Mississippi story is one of tragedy and love. Jimmie was born to an impoverished family and his mother died when Jimmie was six years old. He only attended school on occasion and spent his day playing pool and barbershop rounds. He worked low-paying jobs for railroads, but he still spent every dollar he made. The Mississippi legend was not affected by his tragic death.

Legend lists Jimmie Rodgers’ birthplace as Meridian in Mississippi. However historians believe he was really born in Geiger Alabama, where his paternal grandparents lived. Despite some dispute about Rodgers' actual birthplace many still consider Pine Springs (Mississippi) to be his true hometown. Rodgers lived most of his childhood and adulthood in southeast Mississippi. However, Rodgers also spent some time with family members in southwest Alabama.

FAQ

What percentage of the box office goes to marketing budgets?

Marketing budgets often account for 20%-40% of the film's budget. This is because marketing is very important to the success of any film.

Without good marketing, no one knows about your film. It is impossible to get people to pay for your film without knowing all about it.

What's the difference between an indie film and a foreign language film?

An independent film is usually made by a single filmmaker who makes his or her own decisions about everything.

On the other side, a foreign-language film is normally produced by an even larger production team.

They often hire writers and actors from other nations.

They also hire professional translators so that the dialogue sounds natural.

Are foreign sales worth more to Hollywood than domestic?

Yes, but only slightly. About 17% of total revenue was generated abroad in 2017. 83% of domestic revenues were generated in 2017.

In fact, more than half the world's people live in overseas markets.

This means that even those who have never seen a movie at their home, many will still be interested in your movie.
