Animated people were first created in the mid-nineteenth century, after William George Horner invented a device called a zoetrope in 1834. Hanna-Barbera Productions
Hanna-Barbera's 1960s cartoons were produced by Ruby-Spears and its partners, GAB and Ruby-Spears. Hanna-Barbera also created feature films in addition to the Saturday morning cartoons. Despite the company's struggles, Hanna-Barbera produced the majority of television cartoons in the United States. Filmation and Hanna-Barbera had such a bitter rivalry that Fred Silverman gave Hanna-Barbera Saturday morning cartoons. Hanna-Barbera started producing all its cartoons in-house between the late 1970s to early 1980s.
After the merger, Hanna-Barbera and Warner Bros. Hanna-Barbera went out of business, but animation produced shows and specials. Felix, Sullivan’s character
After a series films, Sullivan's Felix character was revived in a comic strip. However, Sullivan was plagued by alcoholism and syphilis, and the series was ended in 1931. Joe Oriolo, who portrayed the character in a TV series in 1982, revived it in 1959. Sullivan's estate never left the Felix cartoons to Messmer.
Messmer, Sullivan and others collaborated in some ways on the cartoons. But the Felix cartoon wouldn’t be as popular without Sullivan’s marketing efforts. But Sullivan gave Felix his name and personality. Messmer's biographical sketch concludes that the cartoons would be better if Sullivan had made them.
