FAQ

What's the difference of an indie movie and a foreign-language film?

Independent films are usually made by one filmmaker who makes all of the decisions.

On the other hand, a foreign language film is typically produced by a larger production team.

They often hire actors, authors, and directors who are from other countries.

You can also find professional translators to make the dialogue sound natural.

How much of the box office revenue goes to marketing budgets

Marketing budgets usually account for anywhere from 20%-40% of a film's budget. This is because marketing plays a vital role in any film's success.

Without effective marketing, no one will be able to find out about your film. Without knowing about your film, no one wants to pay to see it.

How many films does Hollywood make in a given year?

Hollywood studios make approximately 3,000 films annually. That's right, three thousand!

These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions producing them. They also spend millions promoting them. But how many do you think actually end up getting released into theaters?

Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. The question is, what happens to all the other 2,700+ films? Many of the films are either directly-to-video released or left to collect dust in storage vaults.

However, not all of them are unavoidable. Some of these have been selected to be distributed via Netflix, Amazon Prime or Hulu Plus.

So why don't we see more of them? Why aren’t they being shown in theaters instead? They're too expensive.

They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.

That's where my expertise comes in. I will help you find the best possible way to release your film in theaters.

I will show you how to maximize the return on your investment (ROI), and increase your chances of seeing your film in theaters.

Because let's face it...

It can be challenging to get your film into theaters. It is a complex, long-winded and complicated process that requires a lot of legalities.

It can also come at a high cost before you even begin.

Even worse, your window of opportunity to distribute your film is very limited.

There is not enough time to wait between the completion of a film and its theatrical release.

How To

How to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce founded the Hollywood Walk of Fame, HWOF (Hollywood Walk of Fame) in 1960. The HWOF can be found at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who contributed to motion pictures, television, radio, theater, music, or some aspect of popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.

To become a HWOF member, you need to submit a name to Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. They then submit your details to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once approved, you receive a certificate of eligibility, which includes your name, date of birth, city of residence, occupation, and category. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is attached to a concrete base located in front of the designated Star.

A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. The nominations are evaluated by a committee, which then decides whether or not to approve them. If they do, they send a letter to the applicant's home address explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce will then pay $25. This money is forwarded to the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the application submitted by the artist or organization. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce then pays half of the fee ($12.50). The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. To be listed on the HWOF, you must pay the remaining balance owed to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due is dependent on the number of years since you were first recognized. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.

You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove the name of your from the list.

How old is one to be eligible for a HWOF Star?

To be nominated, one must be at least 18 years. To receive a star, one must be alive at that time. After receiving a stars, one could still be nominated after ten more years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Nominating you can be done by family members. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place an honorary marker in front of the star if there are no living relatives.

Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?

The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.

What happened the star thefts? Around 1,200 stars were taken by the thieves. Each star is between 250-300 lbs. If you add all of the weight together, it comes to approximately 4 tons of stars!
