You may decide to alter the marketing strategy for your film.

You may also choose to rework your script.

Third, you may decide to add characters.

How much do actors make?

For independent films, the average salary for an actor is less than $100,000. The average actor receives between $10,000 and $20,000 for a film. Many actors get no pay. It depends on what actors are successful. Some actors are successful and make millions. Others struggle to find work.

What is the difference in an indie film and one made in a foreign language?

A single filmmaker usually makes an independent film. He or she makes all the decisions.

However, foreign language films are typically produced by a larger production group.

They frequently hire actors, directors, and writers from other countries.

You can also find professional translators to make the dialogue sound natural.

Why isn't there more crowdfunding sites such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter for filmmakers?

Crowdfunding platforms are fantastic because they allow you direct contact with potential investors.

However, most filmmakers do not believe they are qualified to request money. They feel that they need someone else to vouch for them.

Since they haven’t proved themselves yet, they don’t think anyone should make an investment in them.

Instead, they spend months working on their project, hoping someone will eventually notice.

They realized that they hadn't prepared properly when they launched their campaign.

Instead of thousands of dollar, they get a handful of donations.

How To

How to get an honor star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

In 1960, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce created the Hollywood Walk of Fame (HWOF). The HWOF's Los Angeles location is at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.

You must first submit your name and address to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to become a member of HWOF. The Hollywood Department of Cultural Affairs then submits your information to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. A bronze plaque with your name inscribed on it is also included. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.

If a member of the HWOF has nominated you, or if your contributions are significant to films, television, radio or theatre, or any other part of popular culture, you can apply for a Star. A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they decide to approve, they write a letter to the address of the applicant explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the application submitted by the artist or organization. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs takes the other half.

Once an artist has received their star, he/she is eligible to be listed in the HWOF. You must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce the balance due to be included on the HWOF. The amount due depends upon how many years ago your first nomination was. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. You'd owe $10,000 if you were previously nominated in 1990.

You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.

What age is required to become a HWOF star?

One needs to be at least 18 years old when being nominated. To receive a Star, one must still be living at the time. A star can be renominated after 10 years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

Nominating you can be done by family members. If there are no living relatives, then the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place a memorial marker in front of the star.

Why can't people choose to use a different street than having stars all over the place?

The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is meant to honor those who contributed to film history.

What happened to the stars that got stolen? Around 1,200 stars were taken by the thieves. Each star weighs approximately 250-300 pounds, which equates to 4 tons of stars.
