What is the difference in a distributor and a producer?
The movie is created by a producer. The distributor distributes the movie. Distributors and theaters are two options for producers to sell their movies. Distributors purchase movies directly from producers. They then sell them on to theaters or cable channels, as well as streaming services.
Distributors must negotiate with theater owners where their movies will be shown. This could mean that certain theaters may charge more for a particular movie than others. Distributors with multiple theaters are a good choice if your movie needs to be seen by as many people.

How To
How to get a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF is located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. It is composed of 2,711 stars embedded into sidewalks along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents an individual who contributed to popular culture, such as television, radio or theater. There are 1,922 individuals currently listed on HWOF.
To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you have been approved, you will be given a certificate that shows your name and details, including date of birth, place of residence, occupation, and category. A bronze plaque with your personalization is also provided. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.
A current HWOF member can nominate you for a star or if you have made significant contributions in movies, television or radio. The nominations are evaluated by a committee, which then decides whether or not to approve them. If they do so, they send a message to the applicant's address explaining their decision. If the person accepts the nomination, he/she receives a second letter confirming acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.
The department issues an official check payable to Hollywood Chamber of commerce. This check is then sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The fee is then paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at $12.50. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.
Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. For example, if you were first nominated in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if you had been previously nominated in 1980, you would owe $10,000.
If you want to remove yourself from the HWOF, you need to contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and pay off the remainder of your debt. They will remove you from the list.
How old do you have to be in order to receive a star on HWOF?
One needs to be at least 18 years old when being nominated. To be eligible for a star, you must still be alive. After receiving a Star, one can still be Nominated for another star after ten Years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Family members may nominate you to be a star. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.
Why don't people just use a different street instead of having stars all over the place?
The HWOF isn't meant to be an historical monument. It is meant as a memorial to all who contributed to the history of film.
What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves stole around 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
