YouTube influencers

For the past few years YouTube stars and influencers have been at the forefront of the entertainment industry. YouTube is a key player in the entertainment business, with stars such as Madelaine Petsch and the Rock. YouTube has been used by celebrities like Katy Perry to reach their fans. YouTube has 2 billion users! These stars have set the stage for others to follow.

In June, Stranger Things star Hannah Pennyworth announced she was nominated for her video series, "The Dolan Twins." She was extremely supportive of her fellow YouTubers but Dobrik later requested that the video be removed. Hannah reached out Dobrik and the video was taken down. This is just the beginning for the success of influencers. These YouTube stars have set their sights on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

YouTube Pranksters

Pranksters from YouTube have become so popular that they have received their own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His first stunt was to do a backflip and knock two police officers out. He was caught by officers as the video was in progress. The video went viral, and it has been viewed more than 11,000,000 times. Although the prankster was initially arrested, he settled with prosecutors. His outrageous stunts have attracted a loyal following, and have landed him in serious hot water.

In Greenville, SC, YouTube prankster Andre Eugene Moore-Gerald has targeted several victims with whipped cream. The prankster, posting to his 123 subscribers as "Savage_dre," is wanted on a misdemeanor charge of battery and assault. The prankster also allegedly attacked a woman who was pushing a shopping trolley from behind. YouTube failed to assist the woman in this incident, but YouTube's rules for posting prank videos are controversial.

YouTube Movies

Stars on Hollywood Walk of Fame have been given to animated characters for many years. In 1978, Mickey Mouse was honored with a Star in Honor of his 50th Anniversary. Nearly twenty-six more animated characters have been added to the Walk of Fame. Munchkins, Godzilla, Munchkins and three nonanimated canines are other fictional characters. The Walk of Fame also honors a comic actor: Paul Reubens, who received a star for his role in "Married... with Children."

YouTube Comedy Duos

The recent induction of two YouTube comedy duos on the Hollywood Walk of Fame highlights the changing face of celebrity on YouTube. Key and Peele made web series their entire lives, and they have become stars despite not having any traditional backgrounds. Although television and the web have been traditionally considered separate, there are many online premium content options, such as Netflix's House of Cards series and Hulu’s international offerings.

How To

How to get an honor star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in 1960 established the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The HWOF, located at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard Los Angeles, California. It is made up of 2,711 stars that are embedded in the Hollywood Boulevard sidewalk. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.

To become a member of HWOF you will need to submit your name at the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. This submits your name then to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. A bronze plaque with your name inscribed on it is also included. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.

If you were nominated by an HWOF member, or if there are significant contributions made to the entertainment, film, radio, theatre, and music industries, you may be eligible for a "star" award. A committee reviews the nominations and determines whether they should be approved. If they do, they send a letter to the applicant's home address explaining their decision. If the person accepts the nomination, he/she receives a second letter confirming acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce then sends $25 to the City of Los Angles Department of Cultural Affairs.

The department issues a cheque payable to the Hollywood Chamber of commerce. It then sends the check the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays any artist or organization that submitted an application. The fee is then paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at $12.50. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.

Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. You must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce the balance due to be included on the HWOF. The amount due depends on how many years ago you were first nominated. For example, $15,000. Suppose you were first nominated as a nominee in 1990. If you were nominated for the first time in 1990, you would owe $15,000.

You can remove yourself from HWOF by contacting the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to pay the rest of your debt. They will remove you from the list.

How old does one have to get a star on the HWOF?

Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. To receive a coveted star, one must be at least 18 years old. After receiving a Star, one can still be Nominated for another star after ten Years.

What happens if I die before my star gets put up?

A family member can nominate your name for a star. If no relatives are living, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce may place a memorial stone in front of your star.

Why not use a new street, instead of staring at everyone?

The HWOF does not intend to be a historical monument. It is intended to honor all those who have made film history possible.

What happened to the stars that got stolen? The thieves stole around 1,200 stars. Each star weighs approximately 250-300 pounds, which equates to 4 tons of stars.
