FAQ
What is the difference between a producer and a distributor?
The movie is made by a producer. The distributor distributes the movie. Distributors and theaters are two options for producers to sell their movies. Distributors buy movies from producers. They then sell them on to theaters or cable channels, as well as streaming services.
Distributors will need to negotiate with theatre owners about the location of their movies. This means that some theaters might charge more money for a certain movie than others. A distributor should have multiple theaters in order to ensure that your movie is seen by as many people possible.
How many theaters am I required to make my investment return?
It all depends on how long your theatrical release will be running.
If you're planning to run your film for less than two weeks, you only need to open one theater.
If your film is going to be screened for more then two weeks, you will need two theaters.
Hollywood's fame?
The answer was straightforward. It became famous because they were willing to take risks and do something different. They made films that people would recall for years.
They also had the courage and vision to try new ideas.
What happens if my film fails to perform at the box offices?
A film that does poorly at the box-office could lead to many problems.
You may decide to alter the marketing strategy for your film.
Second, you may decide to rewrite the script.
You might also consider adding new characters.
Fourth, you might decide to remove some characters.
Fifth, you might want to make some cuts.
Sixth: You might decide the film was not worth making.
How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?
The number of films produced by Hollywood studios each year is approximately 3,000. It's true, there are three thousand!
These films are marketed by Hollywood, which spends billions of dollars. They spend millions on their production. They also spend millions marketing them. How many end up being released in theaters?
Most likely, the answer is around 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ additional films? Well, most are either made as direct-to-video releases, or they just sit there gathering dust in storage vaults.
But not all of them are destined to go unseen. Some of them are available for distribution via Netflix and Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus or iTunes, Google Play, and others.
Hence, why aren't there more of them? They are not being released in theaters. Because they are too expensive to make.
They'd also be cheaper to produce and released in theaters.
That's where I come in. I'll help you find the best way for your film to be released in theaters.
I will show you how to maximize the return on your investment (ROI), and increase your chances of seeing your film in theaters.
Let's face facts...
It can be difficult to get your movie into theaters. This process can be complicated, lengthy, and filled with legalities.
It may also cost you plenty of money before you even get started.
The time frame in which your film can be distributed is also very limited.
There isn't enough time in between the time a movie is finished and when its theatrical run starts.
Why aren't more filmmakers using crowdfunding sites like Indiegogo and Kickstarter?
Crowdfunding websites are great because you can reach potential investors directly.
But most filmmakers don't think they're qualified to ask for money. They feel they must have someone to speak for them.
They don't believe anyone should invest in them, as they have not proven their worth yet.
Instead, they spend months working hard on their project in the hope that someone will notice.
They realized that they hadn't prepared properly when they launched their campaign.
Instead of thousands of dollar, they get a handful of donations.

How To
How to get a Hollywood Walk of Fame star
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce established the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. The HWOF is located in Los Angeles at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard. It consists of 2,711 stars embedded into the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents someone who made motion pictures, television or radio, as well as music and other aspects of popular culture. The HWOF currently has 1,922 listed living people.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. Once you are approved, you will receive a certificate of eligibility that includes your name, date, residence, occupation, category, and other information. You will also receive a bronze plaque engraved with your name. This plaque is attached directly to the concrete base, in front of designated stars.
You can apply for a star if a current member of the HWOF nominated you or if you made significant contributions to movies, television, radio, theatre, music, or something else considered part of "popular culture." A committee evaluates all nominations and then decides whether to approve them. If they do so, they send a message to the applicant's address explaining their decision. If the person accepts, they will be sent a second letter to confirm their acceptance. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce charges $25, and then the money is sent to the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Los Angles.
The department issues an official check payable to Hollywood Chamber of commerce. This check is then sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays artists or organizations whose applications were accepted. The fee is then paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce at $12.50. The other half goes to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.
Once the artist has received his/her star, he/she becomes eligible to be included in the HWOF. You must pay the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce the balance due to be included on the HWOF. The amount due depends on how many years ago you were first nominated. If you were first honoured in 1990, then you would owe $15,000. For example, if your first nomination was in 1990, you would owe $15,000. However, if it had been in 1980, you would owe 10,000.
Contact the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce to get your name removed from the HWOF and to repay any outstanding debts. They will remove you from the list.
How old do you have to be in order to receive a star on HWOF?
One needs to be at least 18 years old when being nominated. A person must be present at the time of receiving a star. One can still be nominated after receiving a star after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Your family members can nominate you for a star. If there are no living relatives, then the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place a memorial marker in front of the star.
Why don't people just use a different street instead of having stars all over the place?
The HWOF is not meant to be a historical monument. It is meant to honor those who contributed to film history.
What happened to all the stars stolen? The thieves took around 1,200 stars. Each star weighs between 250-300 lbs, so if you add up all the weight, that comes out to about 4 tons worth of stars!
