This means that people who may never have the chance to see a movie at home might still be curious about your movie.

You could own an island with an airfield, power plant and bank.
If that doesn't sound like fun, then you must be insane.
Why do so few independent films ever get distributed?
Many indie filmmakers believe that distributors will take their films.
Because the film is loved by the public, they believe distributors will be interested in it.
But, it is very rare that this happens. Distributors often benefit from independent filmmakers.
They employ tactics like delaying a movie's release until after awards season has ended.
They might delay the release of low-budget films until after the summer blockbuster series has begun.
Distributors may also keep films from the public until people have already spent hundreds of money on tickets, popcorn or candy.
They don't want any of those profits to go to waste.
What is the cost of distributing a feature-length film?
A distribution deal can cost anywhere from $100,000 to $150,000.
Theaters cost an average of $10,000.
The average screen price is approximately $5,000
If you have 100 screens, your distribution fee will be about $500,000.
If you have ten screens, your distribution fees would be $50,000.
How many movies is Hollywood making in a single year?
Each year, Hollywood studios produce approximately 3,000 films. Three thousand!
Hollywood spends billions to advertise for these movies. They spend millions creating them. They also spend millions promoting them. However, how many actually make it to the theaters?
It's probably between 200-300. What happens to the 2,700+ other films? The majority of these films are either direct-to video releases or sit in storage.
However, not all of them are unavoidable. Some have been chosen for distribution via Netflix or Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and iTunes, Google Play and other platforms.
We should see more of them. They're not available in theaters. They are too expensive for production.
And if they were cheaper to produce, they'd be released into theaters.
That's where I come in. I will help you find the best possible way to release your film in theaters.
I'll show how to maximize your return-on-investment (ROI) as well as increase your chances for seeing your movie in theatres.
Let's face facts...
It can be very difficult to get your film in theaters. It is a complex, long-winded and complicated process that requires a lot of legalities.
You may end up spending a lot of money before you get started.
Even worse, your window of opportunity to distribute your film is very limited.
There is simply not enough time between the end of a film and when it goes on its theatrical run.
What is the difference of a producer and distributor?
A producer creates the movie. The movie is distributed via a distributor. A distributor can distribute the movie to theaters or other companies such as Netflix. Distributors can buy movies from producers. Then they sell them to theaters, cable channels, or streaming services.
Distributors need to negotiate with theater owners about where their movies will play. This can mean that different theaters may charge different prices for a movie. Distributors should be able to distribute your movie to as many theaters as possible.

How To
How to get a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce established the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. The HWOF can be found at 6233 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Angeles, California. It's made up of 2,711 stars, which are embedded in the sidewalk on Hollywood Boulevard. Each star represents a person who has contributed to television, radio, theatre, music, motion pictures, or any other aspect of popular culture. There are currently 1,922 living persons listed on the HWOF.
To become a member of the HWOF, you must submit your name to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which then submits your name to the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. After being approved, you will be issued a certificate stating your name, date and place of birth. It also includes information about your occupation, occupation and category. A bronze plaque with your name inscribed on it is also included. This plaque is attached on a concrete base at the star.
If a member of the HWOF has nominated you, or if your contributions are significant to films, television, radio or theatre, or any other part of popular culture, you can apply for a Star. The nominations are evaluated by a committee, which then decides whether or not to approve them. If they do, they send a letter to the applicant's home address explaining their decision. The person who accepts the nomination will receive a second confirmation letter. The Hollywood Chamber of commerce will then pay $25. This money is forwarded to the Department of Cultural Affairs of Los Angeles.
The department issues the Hollywood Chamber of commerce a check, payable to it. The check is sent to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Foundation. The foundation pays the artist or organization whose application was accepted. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce pays half of the $12.50 fee to the artist or organization. The City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs gets the rest.
Once the artist receives his/her star he/she will be eligible to be inducted into the HWOF. To be included in the HWOF, your balance must be paid to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The amount due will depend on when you were first nominated. You would owe $15,000. If you were first Nominated in 1990, for example. If you were nominated for the first time in 1990, you would owe $15,000.
You will need to contact Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in order to be removed from the HWOF. They will take care of removing your name from the list permanently.
How old do you have to be in order to receive a star on HWOF?
Nominations are open to anyone over 18 years of age. To receive a star, one must be alive at that time. After receiving a star, one may still be nominated again after ten years.
What happens if I die before my star gets put up?
Nominating you can be done by family members. If there are no known living relatives, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will place the memorial marker in front of it.
Why not just have stars on every street?
The HWOF doesn't intend to be historical monument. It's meant to be a tribute to those who have contributed to film history.
What happened to the stolen stars? The thieves stole approximately 1,200 stars. Each star is approximately 250-300 lbs in weight. That's about 4 tons of stars!
